Journal writing

Bible – Noah: read story, complete student page, and introduce new verse

Phonics – Teach br as in bride and dr as in drum. Review how you would mark a word with three vowels. Teach cherry pie game with spelling words.

Seatwork – Math p. 35, LS p. 16, Lang p. 16, Copy spelling list 1, spelling book p. 2, write one row of each: cursive letter i, u, t, w, A, 6,7,8,9,0. Read a book when finished.

Reading groups

Poetry - Review "The Secret"

Laura Ingalls Wilder (LIW) – read aloud

Handwriting - Teach cursive letter d.

Math – L. 20: Review counting, review place value, give speed drill, review story problems, introduce subtraction family 5, introduce the dime, and finish p. 36.

Phonics – Review CK rule. Teach that a sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a period. Play cherry pie with spelling words.

Poetry - Review “The Secret”

Handwriting – Test 2

Math –L 21     Review addition and subtraction families 1-5. Review counting by 10’s. Review greater than and less than. Give lesson 21 speed drill. Introduce the addition family 6. Review the dime.Complete page 38.

SS – Community Helpers review, give out study guide for test next Tuesday

Math – L. 23   Reviewing counting by ones and by tens. Review place value. Review addition and subtraction facts. Give lesson 23 speed drill. Review story problems. Introduce numbers that are BETWEEN. (Example: 23 is between 22 and 24.) Review the calendar. Complete page 42.

L. 24    Review completing number sequences by ones. Give lesson 24 speed drill. Review finding the number that is between. Introduce the concept of finding the greatest of three numbers. Complete p. 44.
