Train a child

Fifth Grade

Mrs. Leon
September 6-10, 2010

It doesn't seem like a whole month of school has passed by already!  We have already experienced a few cooler days and I am looking for nicer days ahead.  The students seem more lively when the weather is cool.

We created cast fossils out of wax, and did a comparison between mold fossils and cast fossils.  The children enjoyed comparing the two and seeing the way the cast fossil fit easily into the mold fossil.  They were able to take the fossils home on Friday.  Perhaps your child has shown you theirs.

This week is another short week in which the students will have only 3 days to prepare for their spelling test. They will not have to memorize definitions for the test.  We will have both a history quiz and a science quiz on Wednesday.  The students have been going over the information on those quizzes for some time.  The information should be in their minds well.  On Friday, we will have another history quiz.  The quiz will be open note, therefore, intense studying will not be necessary.

Enjoy the days off with your children. They are a very special group of people.  Enjoy being with them now while they're young.  Time is passing quickly.
