Train a child

Elizabethtown Christian Academy was started in 1998 when three families got together and decided that there was a need for a non-denominational Christian education in Elizabethtown. With one room, one teacher, and eight students ECA began. ECA expanded each school year by adding a grade and needing another classroom.

Severns Valley Baptist Church was instrumental in the success of ECA, first as a landlord, then in helping ECA purchase the building that had housed SVBC for 52 years.  In July 2007, ECA purchased the building at 401 W. Poplar St in Elizabethtown.

Today, ECA is growing and using the blessings God has given us to impact not only the lives of our students, but the Elizabethtown community.  We are a Christian school with 100 students and 15 staff members.  We are a childcare/ preschool provider for 160 students with 27 employees.  First Christian Church of E-town will start using the facility to hold Sunday services, and other church activities starting November 1, 2010.  The building is also used for weddings, receptions, conferences, sports activities, and other community activities.
